Honk! – LED sign – 2013
LED sign for the activist Honk! festival in Somerville, trumpeting the motto Reclaim the streets for horns, bikes, and feet. The sign was constructed in one night and hung precariously from a pole in Davis Square over one of the main performance stages.
The pattern was cut out on the Blackfoot CNC at the Artisan’s Asylum. The LEDs were an individually addressable WS2811 run from Arduino, running off a battery, which made the installation completely self contained with no external AC power.
